Test your skills against National Pacesetter, A.J. Kitt. NASTAR is a recreational, nationally recognized racing program offered at most ski areas around the country. NASTAR allows racers of all ages and abilities a means to compare their race results to other competitors across the country regardless of where they race.

NASTAR hours: Saturdays & Sundays; 10:00AM - 2:30PM. The cost of a single timed run is $8, or you can get unlimited daily runs for only $10, purchased at the Snow Sports Center Desk in the Rental Department. NASTAR Season Passes are also available for the entire winter and cost only $45. 

 

FINAL WEEKEND OF NASTAR!  March 10-11

We've got some fun planned for our final weekend of NASTAR Racing!  Saturday we will run from 10am - 2pm.  Then on Sunday we'll run the gate from 10am - Noon for an open NASTAR public race.  But from 12:30pm - 2pm we will have a NASTAR Competition.  This will be a fun race to end the season with a small awards presentation at the NASTAR Start Building afterwards.  A prize will be awarded to the racer with the lowest handicap.  NASTAR medals will be given to the rest of the racers.  For more info, email racing@spiritmt.com.

NEW: Spirit Mountain Monday Night Adult Race League
All new this year, Spirit Mountain and Miller Lite teamed up for another year to offer an incredible recreational racing league.  This league was designed for racers of all levels and we encouraged first-time racers to sign up. 

 

SIGN-UP: Monday, January 16th in the Moosehead Saloon!  The cost is only $50 for all SIX weeks of racing, plus the practice night and the End of the Season Banquet.  Registration is open from 5:30pm - 8:00pm with gates running from 5:30pm until 7pm.    

 

There are six nights of actual racing... every Monday night from January 23rd through February 27th, with a make-up night set aside on March 5th in case of inclement weather.  Gates will be set every night from 5:30pm - 7:30pm, racing on"Blue Ruin" every night except for the registration night which is on "Sissor Bill".  The final night, February 27th, we plan to hold a dual course Grudge Match on "Cinder Snapper". 

 

Every Monday night we feature Miller Lite and food specials in the Moosehead Saloon, along with a recap of scores, team standings, some individual awards, and some great door prizes.  And we will wrap up the season with a spectacular End of the Season Bash in early March complete with awards, prizes, and live music in the Moosehead Saloon!

NASTAR Race Clinics

Spirit Mountain is pleased to offer the following NASTAR Race Clinics this season; January 15th, 29th, and February 19th.  Clinics run from 9am to Noon on the NASTAR course on "Sissor Bill".  To Register, contact our Snow Sports Center at 218-628-8516 or email: sports@spiritmt.com . Paid registration for these clinics is recommended five days prior to the date.

 

Duluth Superior Alpine Club
The Duluth/Superior Alpine Club programs provide the opportunity for skiers 6-19 years old to learn this life-long sport and develop and refine their alpine and freestyle skiing skills through competitive skiing. Racing/competition opportunities begin at the local club level and extend to the more competitive national (USSA) and international (FIS) level, as well as high school racing.
