Mountain Bike Divas

Divas Social Night - June 15th - 6 - 8pm

Our coaches will be at The Ski Hut - East to present the program and answer any questions you might have. Come out for a good time with the ladies and get ready for MTB Divas to begin!  On-site registration will be available that night for either of the two summer sessions.


Welcome to our signature mountain bike instruction program just for women. Divas is coached by our PMBI certified female mountain biking coaches and sponsored by The Ski Hut.  Designed to be an environment where women are supported and thrive in improving their skills and building confidence on the bike and trails.  This is not an intense downhill or jumps clinic, it is safety minded fun.  

Each week you'll join your coaches who will cover the fundamentals and get you out on the trails.  Divas is great for beginners to intermediate riders and is designed to give every Mountain Bike Diva the opportunity to build confidence and skills to make the mountain her own.

Program offered on Thursday's from 5pm-7pm, followed by complimentary appetizers at The Riverside Bar & Grill.

Zenith MTB Skills Clinic for Women

Join us for our Zenith MTB Skills Clinic for Women sponsored by Trek Bikes!  This clinic is designed for beginners to intermediate riders and taught by PMBIA certified women coaches.  This one day core mountain bike skills camp for women in a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment.  
Are you a new mountain biker wanting to take your learning to the next level?  An experienced trail rider wanting to hone your skills?  Somewhere in between?  Then this clinic is for you!  You will learn foundational skills important for every level of riding and terrain: body position for climbing, descending, and cornering, braking and shifting techniques, trail scanning, and front and rear wheel lifts.

Your registration includes:  morning and afternoon coaching sessions on and off trail, lift ticket, a.m. coffee and pastry, a tasty lunch at the Riverside Grill, and best of all Trek Bicycles will be on site with their new fleet of mountain bikes for you to test ride! (

What to Bring: A Mountain Bike with hand brakes (demo bikes available too from Trek) , a biking specific helmet, gloves, knee and elbow pads, a backpack with a water reservoir or water bottle attached to the bike.  These are recommendations but helmets are required.  
Spirit Mountain Bike Park: The Spirit Mountain Bike Park is a major hub to Duluth’s cross-country, lift-served trails, and a skills park. From smooth and wide flowy singletrack, to small wooden features, to downhill trails. There is terrain for every level of rider. Be sure to stick around for the 2017 Bike Duluth Festival. Duluth Women Mountain Bike 101

Thank you to everyone who came out this year!! It was a great event and good to see the strong MTB Women's biking community kick off the year in style!!

Join the Duluth Women Mountain Bikers for a free evening of fun and information for ladies new to or thinking about starting to mountain bike.  All ladies welcome!

When: Tuesday May 23rd 5-8pm
Where: Spirit Mountain Grand Avenue Chalet
What: Ready to ride at 5:30 for a social mountain bike ride with Trek Women's Mountain Bike Advocate, Dee Bartlam on the Spirit section of the Duluth Traverse-a beautiful, flowy section of single track along Knowlton Creek. We will also have another option for any ladies not yet comfortable riding single track (for the social ride).  You can stick around the Spirit Mountain Chalet during the social ride (5:30-6:30) to learn some basic mountain bike safety and skills.  The focus will be on body position and braking.

If you know women that could benefit from this, please share!  This is not a full clinic, just basic information to riding a mountain bike.  See you there!

1) How to change a flat and other tech talk by Di Mc Fadden, Rachel Howard, and Amy Bennett.

2)Nutrition and hydration for biking by Sherie Nelson, Registered Dietician.

3)Yoga for Bikers! Hip openers and spinal stretches and strengthening poses. Learn 4-5 poses and the muscles groups used in each pose and the action / benefits of them by Michelle Cartier of Runa Yoga!

Continental Ski and Bike will be available with everything from essentials to extras to get you out on the trails!
